A review of six countries in SE Asia to establish the investment costs, the costs of manufacture for a new plant. An evaluation of 'soft' issues, such as corruption, ease of doing business and logistics was carried out for each location.
The work included estimating the requirements for the proposed plant in terms of equipment and building area, establishing local construction costs. The local labour market was evaluated in each case for the ability to provide the skilled labour and for labour costs. A non quantified evaluation of social conditions, governance, corruption and factors that impacted on the time to realise the investment was made.
